69% of B2B buyers now use sellers to validate insights they already got from AI, according to Gartner. That stat says more than it first appears to.
To me it means three things. Buyers don't trust that we will show up prepared with the right information. A lot of what they read is AI slop, and they can feel it. And they still need a human to validate what they found, fit it to their situation, and show them how to lower the risk.
So the next step in AI isn't more content; we are already drowning in it. It is the deep dive: knowing the client well enough to tailor the solution to what they actually need. Information was the old job. Judgment and fit are the new one.
Agents are becoming infrastructure
When Salesforce agreed to pay $3.6 billion for Fin, an AI agent that resolves most support tickets on its own, the category leader was buying autonomy, not another dashboard. Agentic AI is moving from novelty to infrastructure. The work happens in the background, and the human takes the win. The question isn't whether agents join your team. It is what your people do with the hours they hand back.
AI will not replace sellers. Sellers using AI will outperform everyone else. Human instinct sets the direction, human empathy builds trust, and AI strengthens the preparation and sharpens the execution.
From platform of record to platform of action
I have spent my career helping companies climb the analytics ladder:
Gartner found that sales organizations giving reps AI-powered next best actions are 2.6 times more likely to achieve commercial growth. Not analytics. Not dashboards. Next actions.
