Ask any revenue leader why deals die early and you will get a theory. We wanted the pattern, so we asked in an EQALL® LinkedIn poll: what is the #1 reason you lose deals early in the sales cycle?

What leaders told us

36% said reps show up under-prepared, the top answer. 28% said weak follow-up after meetings. 27% said reps can't connect with the buyer. Only 8% blamed a lack of visibility into why deals are lost.

Read those together. 64% of leaders point to the work before or after the meeting, not the meeting itself. And the connection gap is often a prep gap in disguise. It is hard to connect with someone you know nothing about.

Buyers see it too

This is not just a leadership view. 80% of decision-makers say sellers walk in unprepared. They notice when a seller does not know the company's priorities, who else is in the deal, or what matters to the person across the table.

Reps are not lazy. They are stretched. Real prep means pulling research from 7+ systems, and the CRM rarely helps: 50% of contacts and 26% of decision-makers are missing from it.

How EQALL closes the gap

EQALL is the agentic AI sales platform with 12 Agentic AI sales experts, built on the PRO framework: Prepare, Respond, Outperform. Three of the top four answers in this poll map directly to it.

  • Under-prepared. The Researcher builds executive and company profiles from public data, news, and social signals. The Financial Analyst pulls insights from SEC filings and spots tailwinds and headwinds. The Stakeholder Agent maps every player in the deal, with talking points, challenges, and KPIs tied to each buyer's role.
  • Can't connect. The Psychologist (patent-pending) decodes your buyer's communication style from public signals: their preferred tone, pace, and framing. It works even before you have any call history with them.
  • Weak follow-up. The Meeting Assistant extracts action items and drafts a personalized follow-up email, so the next step goes out while the meeting is still fresh.

Customers spend 74% less time preparing, see first-to-second meeting conversion rise from about 20% to about 31%, and move deals forward with 2x follow-up velocity. The hard work happens behind the scenes. You take the win.

A quick test

Before your next key meeting, write down 3 things: the buyer's top priority this quarter, who else influences the decision, and how this person prefers to communicate. If any of the 3 is a guess, the deal is already at risk.
